…while sitting on my couch, of course! HA! I wish I was actually there in person! Alas, I am not, BUT since I am watching it live, I am able to see every award in “real time” which is kind of the same thing, right? No, no. You’re right, it’s not the same thing at all, but damn, I sure wish it was! Anyway, enough trying to get you interested in this post by making you think I am a red carpet reporter…

esq-2012-golden-globes-red-carpet-011412-mdn-300x199Adele just won the Golden Globe for her song, Skyfall, for the latest James Bond film. Up in the category with her was Taylor Swift for the hauntingly beautiful song she sang with the Civil Wars for The Hunger Games, which I wrote about when the film came out, even though I feel that the song better depicts the emotions from the novel itself. While I of course feel that Adele is deserving and I quite simply ADORE HER, I wish that there was a dual award so that Taylor could have also won because it was by far her BEST song to date! It is one of those tunes that makes you feel, deep down in your gut and to the furthest depths of your heart. The softness of her voice and the power of the lyrics are insanely captivating…so, I wanted to give it some airtime here, again on my blog, which is like getting a Golden Globe, right? Oh shush and let me revel in my self proclaimed brilliance! ;) Watch this and delve into the beauty, the sadness, and the brilliance…

Safe and Sound
(Featuring The Civil Wars)

I remember tears streaming down your face
When I said, I’ll never let you go
When all those shadows almost killed your light
I remember you said, Don’t leave me here alone
But all that’s dead and gone and passed tonight

Just close your eyes
The sun is going down
You’ll be alright
No one can hurt you now
Come morning light
You and I’ll be safe and sound

Don’t you dare look out your window
Darling everything’s on fire
The war outside our door keeps raging on
Hold on to this lullaby
Even when the music’s gone
Gone

Just close your eyes
The sun is going down
You’ll be alright
No one can hurt you now
Come morning light
You and I’ll be safe and sound

Oooh, Oooh, Oooh, Oooh
Oooh, Oooh, Oooh, Oooh
La La (La La)
La La (La La)
Oooh, Oooh, Oooh, Oooh
Oooh, Oooh, Oooh, Oooh
La La (La La)

Just close your eyes
You’ll be alright
Come morning light,
You and I’ll be safe and sound…

Oooh, oooh, oooh, oooh oh oh. [x7]
