Gratitude included…

With Thanksgiving upon us, I started thinking about my life right now and all of the wonderful things that I am grateful for. Years ago I read a little book that became an instant favorite because it’s message, while simple, was also pretty profound. That book was The Secret by Rhonda Byrne, maybe you’ve heard of it? Oh, what am I saying?  Of course you have! It was an overnight sensation that hit every bookshelf in town, after all. Anyway, when the book came out it also had an accompanying journal to go with it that was designed to house all of the things one was grateful for everyday. I bought the journal and vowed to write in it constantly, however, as with most journals, that didn’t happen. The “dear diary” concept is a great one but it isn’t so easy to stay dedicated to. Much like resolutions at New Year’s, things like this usually fall by the wayside. So, now I have a journal with more empty pages than not but maybe someday I will fill them up, but enough about that. The thing that was so great about the book was it’s positive message. It told readers that having an abundant life isn’t just about saying “thank you” to the universe for what you have now, but it’s also about showing gratitude for all of the blessings that have yet to come into your life. So, today I want to give thanks for all that I have and all that I will have tomorrow, the next day, and all of the days after that. Life is a funny thing. It is always changing and even what we may consider to be negative won’t always be in hindsight. As long as we are alive there are endless possibilities. Be thankful for your life, no matter how rough you think it is because tomorrow is another chance to get it right. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! 😀
